the brooklyn posh blog // personal
My name is Roni and I am the Brooklyn Posh Blog. I go by Raye, Rah, Neezi etc. etc. I originally started this blog in May 2009 out of sheer boredom when I resigned from my job as a receptionist.
I felt as if I needed an outlet to talk about shit that I wanted to talk about and do the things I wanted to do. Ever since I was a kid, I've always been interested in high fashion. I used to have entire walls covered in magazine ads of brands I liked things I wanted. As I started working, I began to mark things off that I obtained and every so often I would switch up the ads.
I never wanted Brooklyn Posh to be one of those big blogs that loses their focus because their smelling their own shit or they joined a network and now their whole page is flooded with advertisements to the point where you can't enjoy being on that site.
I work, I go to school, I party but I also blog. A lot of people I grew up with have had children and I have a child too; Brooklyn Posh. I nurtured it, watched it grow and never fell off. Brooklyn Posh is apart of my life. It's like a best friend to me. It was there for me when my friends were asleep. It helped me get over the death of my grandfather. Hours on end goes into this blog and I feel honored when people I know tell me they love my blog, I helped them find the perfect thing or my recommendation for a skin product worked wonders for them.
I want to thank everyone for supporting me and Brooklyn Posh. I would also like to thank all the designers who wouldn't give me an invite to their show, (now I have to turn shit down) other bloggers who tried to shut my shit down, all the people who steal my content(everyone knows where it REALLY came from) but most of all everyone who types Brooklyn Posh in their URL. big up uno self bredren! blessed!
The honest truth is I haven't made much from Brooklyn Posh since it's started. I don't have any ads on my site and I'm not apart of any blogger network. I have received free stuff but in the end I don't mind shelling out 20 bucks a year for the hosting and the email. It's definitely worth it to me.
No time for shout outs because the list is too long, but one very important thank you to J.T.: inspiration doesn't begin to grasp the concept of how I feel for your help and even though we are no longer together I still thank you for all you've done. Thank you for pushing me to make Brooklyn Posh a reality! <3 a&f
Once again if you took the time to read this, I thank you too!
God Bless,
xoxo
